New Springs, Balanced and Tested
Springs do the lifting so you and your opener do not have to. We replace them in matched pairs, set the right tension and test the door by hand before we call the job done.

One Spring Fails, the Other One Is Next
A torsion spring is a coiled steel bar held under load, and every open and close cycle costs it a little of its life. When one spring of a pair breaks, the door suddenly weighs far more than the remaining spring can lift, which is why the door drops hard or stops halfway. The remaining spring has been carrying the same number of cycles and the same corrosion, so replacing only the broken one leaves the door uneven and sets you up for the same call in a few weeks. We replace springs in matched pairs of the same wire size and cycle rating, which is why the door runs level afterwards instead of sitting crooked.
Wind-up is the part nobody should attempt in a driveway. The springs hold enough stored energy to hurt someone badly, and the winding bars are real tools with a real technique. We release tension, fit the new springs, wind them to the correct number of turns, then balance the door so it stays put at the halfway point and lifts with light hand pressure. In Pembroke Pines, Weston and Cooper City, sun-facing metal doors and warm garages make heat and corrosion a bigger factor than in most parts of the country, so we also check the drums, cables and center bearing while the springs are off and tell you honestly what else is near the end of its life.
The Springs We Fit Are the Springs We Stand Behind
We fit springs of the correct wire size and cycle rating for your door, and we will show you the old ones so you can see what failed. Your door is rebalanced and cycled several times before we pack up. If a spring we installed lets go, call and we will come back and put it right.
Why This Works Better
Matched Pairs
Both springs are replaced together with the same wire size and rating, so the door lifts level and the new spring is not fighting a tired partner.
Tension Released Safely
Winding and unwinding are done with proper bars and the door secured first. This is the single most dangerous part of any garage door repair and it is no place for improvisation.
Balanced and Cycled
After the springs go on we balance the door, set travel limits and cycle it repeatedly to confirm it runs smoothly before you use it.
Three Steps Start to Finish
Describe the Failure
A bang from the garage, a door that rose a few inches and stopped, or a door that will not budge by hand. Any of those point at springs before we even arrive.
Confirm the Right Spring
We measure the door height and weight, the drum and cable sizes and the existing spring dimensions so the replacement matches the door rather than whatever is on the shelf.
Fit, Wind and Test
Old springs come off, new ones go on, tension is set to the right number of turns and the door is balanced and cycled. Then we show you it holds position at mid-travel.

Spring Replacement FAQs
I heard a loud bang from the garage. What was that?
That is usually a torsion spring snapping. The door will feel extremely heavy and may be stuck. Do not try to lift it and do not pull the release cord — call (786) 671-4001 and we will come and make it safe.
Can you replace just the broken spring?
We do not recommend it. The other spring has the same age and cycle count, so it typically fails soon after, and until it does the door runs unevenly and wears its rollers and cables faster. Pair replacement costs less than two separate visits.
Are all springs the same?
No. Wire size, inside diameter and cycle rating all have to match the weight of your door. A spring that is too light will not hold the door up; one that is too heavy overloads the opener. That is why we measure before we replace. Tell us your door size when you call (786) 671-4001 and we will bring the right pair.
How long does it take?
A standard residential pair is usually done in a single visit. Doors with additional torsion hardware, unusual sizes or heavily corroded drums take longer. We tell you on site before we start.
What about hurricane season?
A door that is out of balance will not seal or latch evenly against wind pressure. Once the springs are right we check the door sits square in the opening and that the tracks and bottom seal make contact, which is what keeps a wind-rated door working as designed.
